Axino Mass in Supergravity Models
We analyze the mass of the axino, the fermionic superpartner of the axion, in general supergravity models incorporating a Peccei–Quinn–symmetry and determine the cosmological constraints on this mass. In particular, we derive a simple criterion to identify models with an LSP–axino which has a mass of O(m3/2/fPQ) = O(keV) and can serve as a candidate for (warm) dark matter. We point out that suc...
متن کاملFermion mass hierarchies in low energy supergravity and superstring models
We investigate the problem of the fermion mass hierarchy in supergravity models with flat directions of the scalar potential associated with some gauge singlet moduli fields. The low-energy Yukawa couplings are nontrivial homogeneous functions of the moduli and a geometric constraint between them plays, in a large class of models, a crucial role in generating hierarchies. Explicit examples are ...
متن کاملFine-tuning favors mixed axion/axino cold dark matter over neutralinos in the minimal supergravity model
Over almost all of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA or CMSSM) model parameter space, there is a large overabundance of neutralino cold dark matter (CDM). We find that the regions of mSUGRA parameter space which match the measured abundance of CDM in the universe are highly fine-tuned, unless tanβ is very large. If instead we invoke the Peccei-Quinn-Weinberg-Wilczek solution to the strong CP problem...
متن کاملRb in supergravity models
We compute the supersymmetric contribution to Rb ≡ Γ(Z → bb̄)/Γ(Z → hadrons) in a variety of supergravity models. We find R b <∼ 0.0004, which does not shift significantly the Standard Model prediction (R b = 0.2162 for mt = 160GeV). An improvement in experimental precision by a factor of four would be required to be sensitive to such an effect. CERN-TH.7553/95 CTP-TAMU-67/94 ACT-24/94 January 1...
متن کاملGlueball Mass Spectrum from Supergravity∗
We review the calculation of the spectrum of glueball masses in non-supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory using the conjectured duality between supergravity and large N gauge theories. The glueball masses are obtained by solving the supergravity wave equations in a black hole geometry. The glueball masses found this way are in unexpected agreement with the available lattice data. We also show how to...
